The 6 phases of processing Sicilian ceramics

1. SHAPING

Immersion of the object in a solution of enamel powder mixed with water.

2. DRYING

A drying time that allows the water contained in the clay to evaporate

3. FIRST COOKING

A first firing lasts approximately 12 hours, bringing the objects to a temperature between 1000/1010 C°

4. GLAZING

Immersion of the object in a solution of enamel powder mixed with water.

5. DECORATION

Made by hand with skill using various brushes to imprint the decorations on the object

6. SECOND COOKING

Cooking for approximately 10 hours at a temperature of 930/950C° with a cooling time of 20/24 hours
