The 6 phases of Sicilian ceramic production

1. SHAPING

Immersion of the object in a solution of enamel powder mixed with water.

2. DRYING

A drying time that allows the water contained in the clay to evaporate

3. FIRST COOKING

The first firing lasts about 12 hours and will bring the objects to a temperature between 1000/1010 C°

4. ENAMELING

Immersion of the object in a solution of enamel powder mixed with water.

5. DECORATION

Made by hand with skill using various brushes to imprint the decorations on the object

6. SECOND COOKING

Cooking time approximately 10 hours at a temperature of 930/950C° with a cooling time of 20/24 hours
