THE SICILIAN PINE
The pine cone has always been an auspicious synonym that contains the symbolic meanings of life force, immortality and divinity.
Raised as a symbol of the mountain, home of the Gods, it already represented divinity in the Mediterranean in ancient times, becoming over time the emblem of speculative and philosophical elevation.
Due to the abundance of its seeds it was a clear reference to fertility and the life-generating force, in fact we find it as an ornamental element placed on the four corners of the iron double beds.
But the pine cone is also a symbol of fertility of the mind which produces ideas of renewal and growth as its ovoid shape is associated with the pineal gland of the human brain.
It was also often associated with the cosmic egg, with zero and therefore with the birth and creation of the human race.
